The Scandinavians are an extraodinary band. They are a band of profound stature.
In 2010 alone, they received numerous awards from the German Rock and Pop Foundation. Known for their electrifying live shows, they were recently asked to play alongside with Thomas Godoj who is a recent winner of Germany's version of American Idol. They have also placed in the top 10 of the Myspace music charts, and 87th place on the YouTube charts. Their fans voted them for three weeks in a row to the favoured band at the large german radio station WDR 2. In April 2012 they reached the tenth place at the international Rock am Ring Bandvoting. With their tremendous popularity, the Scandinavians seem to have sprung out some romantic novel that needs to be translated for the rest of the world to take hold.
The band formed in the '90's, but has recently found much fortune after reforming with their new guitarist in 2009. Now more than ever, they are poised for success. Their sound was recently coined as "Ice-Beat." With the inception of this title, some unknown power has cradled them into what seems to be the cornerstone for their bright future.
The Scandinavians have made a fast name for themselves through their captivating live shows. Their unique sound is shaped through their 4-octave range singer known as Rosen, and their interweaving, intricate basslines. The band as a whole is one tight unit of melodious bliss. Their live shows have created a frenzy that has made them a genuinely golden act to follow. In August of 2009, they officially released their current studio album entitled Indian Summersky. Distribution has proved to be an eminent piece of the puzzle that has propelled the "Ice-men" into the charts. In April of 2010, they placed 87 on YouTube subscriptions and Top 10 on Myspace independent charts. This has lead to much radio play on German radio stations. WDR-2 (radio-listener voting) placed them three times in 1st like such german well-known acts as Crow 7 and Luxuslärm before. The Scandanavians rise seems steeped in some mystical power from above that has just begun to plant it's seeds.
In October of last year, the German Rock & Pop Foundation, one of the oldest and most prestigious music foundations in the country, took notice of the Scandinavians. Shortly thereafter, they were nominated and finally won in 5 categories in the German Rock and Pop press. Among the categories were: Best Alternative Singer, Best Alternative Album, Best Song (English speaking), Best Album (English speaking). In addition they won a golden Rock Oscar for their live on stage performance as Best Alternative Live Act.
Previous award winners include Guano Apes, Pur, Juli, Fools Garden and Luxuslaerm. Being connected to all of these big European artists, the Scandinavians are destined to stand amongst the best in the international circuit. It seems as though Germany is just a start to connecting with the rest of the music world.
